New Max Releases This Week

Max, the streaming service formerly known as HBO Max, this week (April 14-20, 2025) plans to add 11 new releases. Of all the new Max releases this week, here’s the one to watch, in my humble opinion.

The Rehearsal, Season 2 – HBO Original
Release Date: April 20
How would you explain the humor of Nathan Fielder to a random stranger? Offbeat? Unpredictable? Brilliant? Hilarious? All would apply and you could throw in several more descriptions. The world’s most inventive comic since Albert Brooks returns for season two of The Rehearsal, a semi-reality show in which Fielder puts real people in real situations for unreal results. In season two, the six-episode series will feature the comedian’s attempt at using role-playing to explain the causes behind airline crashes. Yes, that’s right. Airline crashes. For humorous effect. It’s Nathan Fielder, folks. The season two of The Rehearsal will debut on Sunday, April 20 with future episodes airing every Sunday until the season final on May 25. Bugs Bunny Builders, season 2D
If you’re a parent, or a kid at heart, check out Bugs Bunny Builders, a zany animated cartoon series featuring the silly rabbit, Porky Pig and Daffy Duck as they rebuild the town of Looneyburg. Debuts Saturday, April 19.

What Is Max?
Max, a streaming service similar to Netflix, Hulu and Disney Plus, offers a mix of original programming, recent and older movies, and library titles from Warner Bros. Discovery properties such as HGTV, the Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies and HBO. The streamer also carries live sports from TBS, TNT and truTV with its two most expensive packages, which are $16.99 a month and $20.99 a month. The cheapest plan, which includes ads, is $9.99 a month and does not include live sports. Max was formerly called HBO Max but switched to just Max in 2023 to better reflect the service included titles beyond HBO.
