Can You Watch NFL Playoffs With Paramount’s $7.99 Plan?

TV Answer Man, I have the Paramount Plus plan for $7.99. Will I be able to watch the NFL playoff games with that plan or do I need to upgrade to the Showtime plan? – Nestor, Galveston, Texas.

Nestor, Paramount Plus, the streaming service, has two plans: The Essential, which is $7.99 a month, and Paramount Plus with Showtime, which is $12.99 a month.

The Essential includes a large library of movies and TV shows with ads, but it does not include Showtime or the live feed from your local CBS affiliate. The $12.99 a month plan includes Showtime and the live CBS feed plus the ads are limited.

Now that might suggest you are out of luck for NFL playoff games broadcast by CBS. (The network will show the Texans-Chargers game on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET and the Broncos-Bills at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.) However, Paramount Plus allows Essential subscribers to watch the NFL games on CBS although they don’t get the 24/7 live feed.

Also worth noting: Paramount Plus is now offering a 30-day free trial if you go to this promotional page. The deal is good for both Paramount Essential and the $12.99 a month Paramount Plus with Showtime plan.
