Hulu today (July 1, 2024) is adding 54 new TV shows and movies to its subscription Video on Demand service. Here’s the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

Get Out (2017)
Daniel Kaluuya stars as a young black man who learns some scary secrets about his white girlfriend (Allison Williams) and her family when he visits their home. The Jordan Peele-directed horror/satire became an instant classic for its insightful and suspenseful take on racial paranoia (from both sides here) and miscommunication. Be prepared to laugh, think and occasionally jump out of your seat.

Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby (2006)
Adam McKay’s hilarious send-up of the NASCAR circuit starring Will Ferrell as a witless but winning driver. Sacha Baron Cohen is Peter Sellers-like funny as a French driver and rival to Ferrell’s Ricky Bobby and the rest of the supporting cast includes Amy Adams, John C. Reilly and Leslie Bibb. Rev your engines and prepare to laugh.

7 Shark Shows For Shark Week (Month)
Discovery’s annual shark week programming begins Sunday, July 7, but Hulu is getting a head start with seven new titles devoted to the fascinating but ferocious creature of the sea. The list includes a premiere of Sharks Gone Viral. (Apparently the deep-water denizens have a social media team.)
