When Will NFL Network Be Added to the ESPN Unlimited App?
TV Answer Man, here’s a question for you: l have the ESPN Unlimited app and they said awhile back that the NFL Network would be added to the app for no extra money. So where is it, Swanni? – Dave, Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Dave, you are right. ESPN now owns the NFL Network as part of a new agreement with the NFL which also includes the sports network getting licensing and branding rights to the NFL RedZone Channel.
NFL Network to Become Part of ESPN App
The NFL Network will be integrated into the ESPN Unlimited app and ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro inferred in February that he expected this to happen in April. However, it looks like that was too optimistic.
Veteran sports journalist John Ourand writes in his Puck newsletter that ESPN now expects the NFL Network to be added “before the 2026 season.” Ourand is one of the best in the biz so you can take that to the bank.
When the NFL Network is added, the channel will be available as part of the app’s regular $29.99 a month fee and will not require a separate fee. This will certainly make the ESPN Unlimited app more valuable since the NFL Network will air seven NFL regular season games in 2026. (The channel will still be available on pay TV services such as cable and satellite.)
