How to Switch to Your Favorite Team’s Radio Broadcast With MLB TV’s Video

By Phillip Swann

TV Answer Man, a buddy of mine told me that you can sync up the local radio broadcast of the Washington Nationals with the video on Nationals.TV. Do you know how to do that? – Steve, Fairfax, Virginia.

Steve, one of the nice features of MLB TV’s streaming plans is that you can listen to either the TV broadcasting team or the local radio broadcasting team while watching the live video of the game.

In this case, Nationals.TV, the team’s new streaming service on MLB TV, allows you to listen to TV’s Dan Kolko and Kevin Frandsen or 106.7 The Fan’s Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler on radio. (You can do this with any team on MLB TV including games in-market and out-of-market.) Here’s how to do it:

When you are watching a live game, scroll down to either Broadcast Options or Audio Feeds. (It’s different on different devices.) Click on that and you will get an option to choose the audio provided by the video team or your local radio broadcast of the game. Click on the radio broadcast and it will immediately become your main audio. It’s that simple.

What’s not simple is that the radio feed does not always perfectly sync with the video. I have done this now four times and it only synched perfectly once. The other times the audio was two or three seconds behind the video. I got used to this after a few innings but yesterday’s perfect sync was ideal.

No knock on Kolko and Frandsen, but as a longtime fan of Slowes and Jageler, I have throughly enjoyed watching the Nationals and listening to them. They have been the radio team for the Nationals since year one and their knowledge and analysis is peerless. But it’s great to have the option to listen to either broadcast.

Steve, I hope that answers your question. Happy viewing (and listening) and stay safe!
