TV Answer Man, I really like Apple TV and I agree with you that they are the next HBO. They have so much quality compared to the current HBO. But I read that a show just got cancelled. Do you know what show got cancelled? I hope it’s not the Jon Hamm show. – Sandy, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

Sandy, Apple TV has become the new home of quality TV with award-winning shows such as Ted Lasso, Pluribus, Silo, Severance and Your Friends & Neighbors, which stars Jon Hamm. And, no, the Hamm show did not get cancelled; it will return for season two next month.

But one show did get cancelled, according to Deadline. Palm Royale, which stars Kristen Wiig as a socialite wannabe in upper crust Palm Beach in the late 1960s, has been axed after two seasons. The comedy was nominated for an Emmy but even quality-conscious Apple has to pay attention to the ratings.

I watched the first two episodes of season one of Palm Royale and found it strained and a rare time when Wiig, one of the greatest comediennes ever, failed to tickle my funny bone. But many critics liked it as evidenced by the 11 Emmy nominations for season one.

Season two ended in January 2026.
