DIRECTV to Add Free Baseball Channel Tomorrow

DIRECTV’s free ad-supported streaming service, called MyFree DIRECTV, is scheduled tomorrow to add the MLB Fast Channel.

What Is the MLB Fast Channel?
The MLB Fast Channel is Major League Baseball’s free service featuring its classic games and other programming (not to be confused with the MLB Network). The channel also includes daily highlights and game recaps from both the Major and Minor Leagues. During the regular season, it will add a weekly replay of a featured MLB game plus Minor Leagues game replays.

What Other Free Sports Channels Does MyFree DIRECTV Offer?
MyFree DIRECTV now has more than 140 ad-supported channels including roughly 30 sports channels such as their NBA Fast Channel, NBC Sports Now and Fox Sports.

How Do You Watch MyFree DIRECTV?
The service, which launched in November 2024 with about 70 channels, is available to both DIRECTV subscribers and non-DIRECTV consumers. You can watch the free channels by creating a DIRECTV account at DIRECTV.com and then going to the DIRECTV Stream app or this web page.

Why Did DIRECTV Start MyFree DIRECTV?
DIRECTV is hoping that MyFree DIRECTV will generate additional advertising revenue as well as attract potential customers who might subscribe to the pay TV service after coming to its site/app.

What Free Channels Are Missing From MyFree DIRECTV?
While MyFree DIRECTV’s lineup still trails other free services such as Sling TV’s Freestream, Pluto TV and Xumo Play, which offer hundreds of free channels, the TV provider is likely to continue to build the numbers as it generates more viewership. There are several high-profile freebies that have yet to be added to MyFree DIRECTV, such as the NFL Channel. But since the launch, DIRECTV has added several channels from top programmers such as Lionsgate, AMC, NBC and ABC.
