Updated: DIRECTV Adds 2 New Mix Channels

DIRECTV has added two new Mix channels for Food and Weather enthusiasts. (The TV Answer Man has asked DIRECTV if the new Mix channels are now available on both satellite and streaming. We received a response but it did not answer the question. If we get a clear answer, we will update this article.)

Update: A DIRECTV spokesperson says they are on streaming only.

The DIRECTV Mix displays multiple channel views emphasizing one genre on one screen. Previously launched Mix channels include ones for Sports, News, Business, Kids and League Sports.

The new Food Mix channel, which can be found on channel 917, includes live displays of The Food Network channel, Tastemade, America’s Test Kitchen and Sweet Escapes. It’s available to Signature package customers and subscribers to the MyEntertainment genre pack.

The new Weather Mix channel, which is on channel 913, displays the The Weather Channel, Accuweather channel and Fox Weather. It’s available to Signature package customers (Entertainment and above and comparable legacy plans) and all Genre Pack subscribers.

In December, DIRECTV added three new Sports Mix channels for streaming and satellite:

Sports Mix 2
The channel, which is on channel numbers 205 and 922, will include ESPN, Big Network, SEC Network and FS1 games. The channels sometimes offer alternative feeds, and rather than having to look for them in the guide, customers can now locate them immediately on Sports Mix 2, a companion to Sports Mix which has been on DIRECTV satellite for years and was added to streaming in August.

College Sports Mix
The channel, which is on channel numbers 614 and 923, will include games from the SEC Network, ESPNU, ACC Network and Big Ten Network.

Deportes Mix
The channel, which is on channel numbers 470 and 924, includes games from TUDN, Fox Deportes, ESPN Deportes and TyC Sports.
