Amazon Prime, Paramount Plus, Apple TV, Hulu, Peacock, Disney Plus and HBO Max today (January 30, 2026) have added eight new shows and movies to their streaming lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

If I Had Legs I’d Kick You (2025)
Where to Watch: HBO Max
When to Watch: Friday, January 30
What Kind of Movie: Drama
Who’s In It: Rose Byrne, Conan O’Brien

Rose Byrne stars in her Oscar-nominated role as a psychotherapist who needs more help than her patients due to stress over her daughter’s feeding disorder. Unable to handle the pressure, she turns to drugs, alcohol and anything else that might provide short-term relief. The film serves a great lesson about human fragility and its power to possess at a moment’s notice.

Preparation For the Next Life (2025)
Where to Watch: Amazon’s Prime Video
What Kind of Movie: Drama
Who’s In It: Fred Hechinger, Sebiye Behtiyar

Looking for a hidden gem? Try Preparation For the Next Life which was released in a small number of theaters in late 2025. Sebiye Behtiyar stars as a Uyghur woman who’s toiling in a Chinatown New York kitchen when she meets a U.S. soldier (Fred Hechinger) who’s recovering from post-traumatic syndrome after fighting in the Middle East. Despite their differences, and hardships, the two discover their bond makes them stronger as individuals. The film, which received a sizzling 97 score from the critical review site, Rotten Tomatoes, is a testament to the power of love as well as a commentary on the difficulties of post-war life for soldiers everywhere.

Yo Gabba Gabba Land (Season two)
Where to Watch: Apple TV
What Kind of Show: Children’s/Variety
Who’s In It: Muno, Foofa, Plex, Brobee and Toodee – and Magician Kammy Kam

The sequel to the popular Nick Jr. children’s show (Yo Gabba Gabba), Yo Gabba Gabba Land features skits and musical performances with five lovable costumed characters. The previous show’s emcee, DJ Lance, has been replaced by magician Kammy Kam. Along with my toddler daughter, Lucy, I was a loyal viewer of the original Yo Gabba when it aired a decade ago and I’m happy to see it’s back delighting young minds (and some old ones). If you have a little one at home, this one is for you.
