Paramount Plus to Add 5 New Releases This Week: The 3 to Watch
By Phillip Swann
The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
Paramount Plus this week (January 18-24, 2026) plans to add five new shows to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:
Landman (Season 2 finale)
When to Watch: Sunday, January 18
What Kind of Show: Drama/Comedy
Who’s In It: Billy Bob Thornton, Sam Elliott, Ali Larter, Andy Garcia, Demi Moore
I have written here (a few times) that Landman, which stars Billy Bob Thornton as a ruthless oil company exec, is an excellent show. The first season was pitch perfect. But I need to qualify my earlier comments. Season two has been uneven, to put it nicely. The show has been bogged down with ridiculous subplots involving secondary characters. But when Landman is good, it’s great so I have faith it will be great again in the season finale. So, yes, do watch, but don’t say I didn’t warn you if the finale is more about Ali Larter cooking than Andy Garcia getting cooked.
UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship:
When to Watch: Saturday, January 24 (Starting at 5 p.m. ET)
Who’s In It: Justin Gaethje, Paddy Pimblett
Paramount Plus, and its sister network, CBS, last August purchased the rights to all UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) matches including future events starting this Saturday, January 24, 2026. Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett will battle for the interim lightweight title on Saturday night while Kayla Henderson will defend her Bantamweight crown against Amanda Nunes. Paramount Plus just raised the price of its two plans by $1 a month. For UFC fans who no longer have to pay PPV prices to watch big matches, the rate hike is worth it starting Saturday. The coverage begins at 5 p.m. ET with early preliminary bouts while the Gaethje-Pimblett fight expected around 9 p.m. ET.
Handsome Devil: Charming Killer
When to Watch: Tuesday, January 20
What Kind of Show: True Crime Documentary
Who’s In It: Wade Wilson, Brian Ross
The Paramount original documentary chronicles the strange case of Wade Wilson, a 25-year-old Florida man who became an online sensation after brutally murdering two young women. The show, which was written and produced by former ABC investigative reporter Brian Ross, explains how some females on social media were captivated by Wilson’s ‘bad boy’ looks despite his despicable behavior and were willing to believe he was innocent of his crimes. (A similar situation is now occurring in New York with Luigi Mangione who’s on trial for murdering a health care executive.)
