Amazon’s Prime Video this week (January 4-10, 2026) plans to add six new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)
What Kind of Movie: Animated Comedy
When to Watch: Friday, January 9
Who’s In It: The voices of Jack Black, Bryan Cranston, James Hong, Dustin Hoffman

Jack Black voices Po, the martial arts-proficient panda who must find a new Dragon Warrior to replace him because he’s ascending to Spiritual Leader. Along the way, he teams with the fox pilferer, Zhen, to defeat an evil sorceress. While the franchise is on level four here, the animated film still delivers plenty of laughs for the kids (and more than a few for their parents.)

NBA Prime: Minnesota at Cleveland
What Kind of Show: Pro Basketball
When to Watch: Saturday, January 10, 1 p.m. ET

Amazon offers a rare matinee NBA Prime matchup when the Minnesota Timberwolves visit the Cleveland Cavaliers. Minnesota (22-13 at press time) is led by Anthony Edwards who’s averaging 29.1 points a game while the Cavs (20-16) are paced by Donovan Mitchell who’s scoring 29.8 points a game. ESPN’s Matchup Predictor gives Cleveland a 55.6 percent chance of winning thanks to a home record of 13-8.

Beast Games, Season Two
What Kind of Show: Gaming/Reality
When to Watch: Wednesday, January 7
Who’s In It: Mr. Beast

Mr. Beast, the social media titan also known as Jimmy Donaldson, is back on Amazon for another season of death-defying competition for cash prizes. In this installment, 100 ‘smart’ contestants will battle 100 ‘strong’ contestants in various athletic and mental challenges with the winning team scoring $5 million.

Note: All new releases here are free with an Amazon Prime membership.
