Netflix, Peacock, Amazon’s Prime Video Hulu and HBO Max today (December 26, 2025) are adding eight new shows and movies to their lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Sinners (2025)
Where to Watch: Amazon’s Prime Video
When to Watch: Friday, December 26

Michael B. Jordan (pictured above) stars in dual roles as twins who return to their hometown in 1930s Mississippi to combat an evil force (vampires.) Directed by Ryan Coogler, Sinners has been one of the smash hits of 2025, generating nearly $300 million at the domestic box office. And the critics are still raving about Sinners, calling it an exciting and insightful thriller with a horror overlay. I watched Sinners when it first debuted on HBO Max and was absolutely floored at how riveting it was. Michael B. Jordan flashed a Denzel-like coolness and swag that he had never really exhibited before, even in Coogler’s Creed movies. Fun movie!

Bugonia (2025)
Where to Watch: Peacock
When to Watch: Friday, December 26

Emma Stone stars in this black comedy as a high-profile executive who’s kidnapped by two screwballs (Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis) who think she’s a space alien planning to destroy the Earth. Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things, which also starred Stone), Bugonia is winning Oscar buzz with critics saying it’s a funny satire on today’s conspiracy-obsessed culture.

Cover-Up
Where to Watch: Netflix
When to Watch: Friday, December 26

You may have never heard of Seymour Hersh but the former New York Times and The New Yorker reporter was basically Woodward and Bernstein rolled into one during his heyday. Over the decades, he single-handedly broke numerous major stories such as the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam and the excessive interrogation tactics by U.S, troops during the Iraqi War. In Cover-Up, a new Netflix original documentary, the publicity-shy Pulitzer Prize winner finally opens up on how he did it.
