The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
Netflix tonight (December 19, 2025) will exclusively stream an eight-round live boxing match between YouTube influencer turned pugilist Jake Paul and former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. Here is everything you need to know about the fighters and how to watch on the streaming service.
When Will the Fight Take Place?
Netflix’s streamcast will begin at 8 p.m. ET with an undercard that will include a women’s Bantamweight championship between Cherneka Johnson and Amanda Galle; a women’s Lightweight championship between Caroline Dubois and Camille Panatta; and a men’s welterweight bout between Avious Griffin and Justine Cardona, among others. With so many fights preceding Paul-Joshua, the main event may not take place until after 11 p.m. ET.
Will the Fight Be Available On Any Netflix Plan?
Yes, whether you have the $7.99 a month ads-included Netflix plan, or the streamer’s two most expensive plans, the fight will be available to you. Unlike Pay Per View boxing matches, you won’t have to pay extra to watch; everything is in your plan.
Will the Fight Be In 4K?
No, but it will be in 1080p HD, which should look ‘smashing,’ shall we say.
Will the Fight Be Available On Repeat Tomorrow?
Yes, if you decide to tuck in early, you can watch a repeat of the fight on Netflix Saturday morning, and beyond.
Can Jake Paul Actually Win Tonight?
The Joshua fight will easily be Paul’s toughest since he started boxing in 2020. Joshua, a 12-1 favorite, is 28-4 with 25 knockouts. He is listed at 6’6” and weighed in at 245 pounds, looking physically dominant next to his smaller and less experienced opponent. Paul, who is 6’1” and weighed in at 217 pounds, is 12-1 with seven knockouts.
Why Is Paul Taking This Fight?
That’s a great question. The match seems so one-sided that some boxing fans have speculated that it will be ‘scripted,’ meaning the two fighters have agreed to take it easy on each other. Paul’s action-less ‘exhibition’ with Mike Tyson, streamed on Netflix, is cited as Exhibit A in their arguments. However, Netflix, Paul and Joshua have all denied the allegations and boxing experts say Joshua would never go for it. Consequently, many are predicting an early knockout by Joshua. Paul’s infatuation with the sport could come to an end tonight.
