Amazon’s Prime Video this week (December 7-13, 2025) will add nine new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Merv (2025)
Release Date: Wednesday, December 10

Charlie Cox (pictured above) and Zooey Deschanel star as a separated couple who decide to reunite briefly only to cheer up their depressed dog. The pooch, of course, has another agenda and it’s aimed at a permanent solution. This is a cute concept albeit poaching from the millions of movies where the kid plots to get Mom and Dad back together. But this time, the dog runs the show.

The Game Awards
Release Date: Thursday, December 11, 7 p.m. ET

Amazon, which owns the Twitch gaming service, will streamcast this annual tribute to the gaming industry. But unlike some award shows, The Game Awards will not only hand out trophies for great achievement but the industry’s top companies will reveal when some much-anticipated new games such as Resident Evil Requiem and will be launched (likely February 2026). Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is likely the big award winner of the night coming in with the most nominations.

Thursday Night Football: Atlanta at Tampa Bay
Release Date: Thursday, December 11, pre-game coverage starts at 7 p.m. ET

It’s not the most exciting matchup of the TNF season, but Tampa Bay, led by QB Baker Mayfield, are in the playoff hunt with a 7-5 record; the first place Bucs lead the NFC South by a half-game over the Carolina Panthers.
