Peacock Today Added 54 New Movies – Here Are the 3 to Watch

Peacock today (December 1, 2025) added 54 new movies to its streaming lineup, according to the streamer’s web site. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Rocky (1976)
Sylvester Stallone plays the loveable pugilist, Rocky Balboa. The original is the best of the multi Rockys over the years with Sly playing the fighter as a flawed everyman who just wants a chance to hit it big. Carl Weathers is a treat as his nemesis, Apollo Creed (clearly modeled after Muhammad Ali), while Burgess Meredith, Burt Young and Talia Shire make up the colorful cast. (Note: Peacock today has added all six Rocky films as well as the three Creed movies.)

Creed (2015)
And speaking of which…director Ryan Coogler (Sinners) amazingly breathes new life in the four decade-old Rocky franchise with Michael B. Jordan (pictured above) starring as Adonis Creed, the lost son of Rocky frenemy Apollo Creed. Adonis aims to follow in his pop’s footsteps as a world champion but struggles until an aging (but wiser) Rocky Balboa agrees to train him. Sylvester Stallone is rejuvenated in the role, displaying a pathos the character hasn’t exhibited since the original Rocky in 1976. He’s great and so is Jordan. And being a Rocky film, albeit it under the Creed banner, there are fight scenes and they are as thrilling as any in the Rocky series. Creed is a great film and a wonderful showcase for Coogler’s talents.

Die Hard (1988)
Bruce Willis plays the smirking New York cop combatting a terrorist takeover of his wife’s office building in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve. The film, directed with perfection by John McTiernan, redefined the action genre and made Willis an A-List star. Alan Rickman nearly steals the picture as the evil, acid-tongued terrorist boss.
