DIRECTV Adding 7 More Free Channels; NBA, Boxing Channels Included

DIRECTV is adding seven more free channels to its MyFree DIRECTV lineup, including four sports channels and three entertainment channels.

The four new free sports channels are:

NBA Fast (channel 4114, starting today)
The NBA official ads-supported free channel offers breaking news, behind-the-scenes stories, and highlights from around the league.

Red Bull TV (channel 4119, starting November 19)
The channel features personalities and moments in extreme sports.

DAZN Ringside (channel 4133, starting November 19)
The boxing channel features short films and documentaries, and some live undercards from the biggest fights broadcast on DAZN.

Pursuit UP (channel 4172, starting November 19)
The channel is dedicated to outdoor sports including fishing and hunting as well as other lifestyle outdoor activities.

The three new free entertainment channels are:

The Walking Dead Universe (channel 4227, starting today)
The AMC Network channel features full-length episodes of the Walking Dead franchise, including Dead City, Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live.

Portlandia (channel 4324, starting November 18)
The channel runs episodes from the brilliant satire of hipster life starring SNL’s Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein.

All Reality WeTV (Channel 4253, starting today)
The channel is dedicated to reality TV lovers with series and highlights.

MyFree DIRECTV, which is available to both DIRECTV subscribers and non-DIRECTV consumers, now includes more than 110 live channels and on-demand programming. You can watch the free channels by creating a DIRECTV account at DIRECTV.com and then going to the DIRECTV Stream app or this web page.

DIRECTV is hoping that MyFree DIRECTV will generate additional advertising revenue as well as attract potential customers who might subscribe to the pay TV service after coming to its site/app.
