Netflix announced today that it will exclusively stream an eight-round live boxing match between YouTube influencer turned pugilist Jake Paul and former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on December 19.
The fight card, which will be held at the Kaseya Center in Miami, will begin at 8 p.m. ET.
The announcement comes after Paul’s exhibition bout against Gervonta “Tank” Davis was cancelled recently after civil allegations of domestic abuse against Davis.
The Joshua fight will easily be Paul’s toughest since he started boxing in 2020. Joshua, a former Olympic boxer, is 28-4 with 25 knockouts. His last fight was September 21, 2024 when he was knocked out in the fifth round by Daniel Dubois. Joshua is listed at 6’6” and 245 pounds.
Paul, who is listed at 6’1” and 185 pounds (although he has been as much as 40 pounds heavier in some fights), is 12-1 with seven knockouts. His sole loss was to Tommy Fury in a split decision.
“Anthony Joshua,” Paul said, according to a Netflix press release today. “100%. I want a challenge. I want challenges always.”
Netflix said the Joshua-Paul fight will be available in all subscriber plans.
