Amazon’s Prime Video tomorrow (November 1, 2025) plans to add 57 new movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the four to watch, in my humble opinion:

Annie Hall (1977)
Woody Allen’s comedy masterpiece is based loosely on the actor/director’s romance with Diane Keaton (pictured above), who plays the title character. The film, which captured the 1978 Academy Award for Best Picture, combines Woody’s comic brilliance with an insightful take on relationships and human foibles. Such a great movie and one that filmmakers have tried to replicate ever since with varying degrees of success. (Looking at you, Rob Reiner, director of When Harry Met Sally.) Annie Hall is a great showcase for Ms. Keaton who recently died at the age of 78; pay some homage to the great actress on Saturday and stream in. You’ll be glad you did.

Happy Gilmore (1996)
Adam Sandler is hilarious as a former hockey player who turns golf pro to save his grandmother’s home from foreclosure. Christopher McDonald is superb as his foil, a star golfer named Shooter McGavin and the splendid supporting cast also includes the recently departed Carl Weathers as Happy’s mentor, former SNL pal Kevin Nealon as a fellow golfer, SCTV great (now also late) Joe Flaherty as a heckling fan and the great Bob Barker as himself.

Rear Window (1954)
Director Alfred Hitchcock exploits the human impulse to snoop with this suspenseful masterpiece starring Jimmy Stewart as a wheelchair-bound photographer who thinks he’s uncovered a murder after spying on his neighbors from his window. It’s a great film filled with subtle psychological messages about our worst and best instincts. (mostly worse).

Hannah and Her Sisters (1986)
Directed by Woody Allen, who also stars, this is a funny and sometimes poignant examination of complex relationships and human fragility, Set in New York City, the film weaves together the lives of three sisters, played brilliantly by Mia Farrow, Barbara Hershey, and Dianne Wiest. Their stories, marked by love, jealousy, and existential crises (a consistent Woody theme), are portrayed with sensitivity and depth. The great supporting cast also includes Michael Caine as a man torn between lovers who happen to be sisters.
