Streaming Service Briefs: HBO Max to Lose CNN Live; Hulu Moving to Disney+; Amazon Offers Streaming Discounts

HBO Max to Lose CNN Live Feed Next Month
HBO Max has announced that its live feed of CNN programming will be removed on November 17, 2025. The news channel will soon launch its own standalone service. Ergo, no need for the HBO Max feed which would be competition. CNN original shows such as Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, and The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper will continue to be available on demand.

Hulu Begins Move to Disney Plus This Week
Disney has announced that, starting Wednesday (October 8, 2025) it will begin moving Hulu to its Disney+ platform in certain regions. When the rollout is complete, which is expected sometime in 2026, the Hulu standalone service will no longer exist; all Hulu programming will be found on Disney+.

Amazon Offers Steep Discounts On Several Streamers
As part of its annual Prime Day sale, which begins tomorrow (October 7, 2025), Amazon is now offering steep discounts on Mubi ($1.99 per month for two months); Daily Burn ($1.99 a month for two months); Curiosity ($1.99 a month for two months); BET+ for $1.99 a month for three months); and the NBA League Pass (25 percent off for two months), among others. NBC/Peacock Hires Lenny Kravitz For NBA Opening Song
Peacock and NBC this season have the rights to 100 regular season NBA games and the peacock network has signed Lenny Kravitz to play Carrie Underwood and sing the opening song to its NBA Sunday Night Basketball broadcasts. Peacock will begin streaming regular season games on October 27, but the Sunday show will not begin on NBC and Peacock until February 1, 2026. See this NBC press release for more information.

Fubo to Exclusively Carry PPV of UEFA World Cup Qualifying Action This Week
Fubo, the live streaming service, will be the exclusive home starting this week (October 10-14, 2025) to select UEFA European qualifiers to the FIFA World Cup 2026 tournament. Select matches will be available via Pay Per View (PPV) for $9.99 each or $24.99 for five. To learn more, see this Fubo press release.
