Amazon’s Prime Video Added 117 New Movies Today – Here Are the 3 to Watch

Amazon’s Prime Video today (October 1, 2025) has added 117 new movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Bull Durham (1988)
Bull Durham, the 1988 baseball comedy from director Ron Shelton (a former minor league baseball player in the Orioles organization), stars Kevin Costner as a career-long minor leaguer who’s summoned to tutor a talented but dimwitted pitcher (Tim Robbins). Shelton’s personal experience in the bush leagues brings a realism to this fun film.

Blazing Saddles (1974)
Mel Brooks’ brilliant and delightfully politically incorrect 1974 spoof of Westerns stars Cleavon Little as Sheriff Bart but the real stars are Gene Wilder as the sheriff’s alcoholic, fast-drawing sidekick and Harvey Korman as the snidely Hedley Lamarr, a wealthy land-grabbing businessman. Both are as funny as it gets. Trivia: Brooks wanted Richard Pryor for the Sheriff Bart role, but the studio vetoed it, concerned that Pryor’s reputation for on-set (and off set) mischief would be trouble for the production. Pryor, one of the writers of the screenplay, would later get his chance to team with Wilder in four films, including 1976’s Silver Streak.

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark is a cinematic masterpiece that still holds up nearly 50 years later. Blending action, adventure, and even archaeology, the film is a cinematic simulation of riding a rollercoaster. Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Harrison Ford as the iconic Indiana Jones, the film takes audiences on a breathtaking journey across the globe in search of the elusive Ark of the Covenant.
