YouTube TV, the live streaming service, has raised its base price from $72.99 a month to $82.99 a month. The change, which was posted today at the YouTube TV web site, was first noticed by Michaelsaves.com.

The live streamer is currently running a promotion which enables new customers to subscribe for $59.99 a month in each of the first three months. That YouTube TV offer is scheduled to end on January 12, 2025.

But the price hike will likely not sit well with current customers although the new rate is the same as what Hulu Live ($82.99 a month) is now charging, just $3 more a month than what Fubo is charging for its base rate ($79.99 a month), and $4 a month less than what DIRECTV Stream’s base rate is ($86.99 a month). The new YouTube TV price will go into effect for existing subscribers on January 13, 2025.

Sling TV, another major live streaming service, will raise its price from $40 a month to $45.99 a month on December 20. However, Sling’s lower price comes with fewer channels than its rivals.

YouTube TV last raised its base price in March 2023 when it increased from $64.99 a month to $72.99 a month.
