TV Answer Man, will tonight’s Eagles and Cowboys game be in 4K on Peacock, the streaming service? – Gene, Pittsburgh.
Gene, the 2025 NFL regular season opens for business tonight (September 4, 2025) when the Philadelphia Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys with kickoff expected around 8:15 p.m. ET.
NBC affiliates will broadcast the game but Peacock, the NBC operated streaming service, will also carry it. The NBC stations will show it in 1080i HD, which offers a good but not outstanding image. But what about Peacock? Will the streamer come though with 4K, even upscaled 4K?
Answer: No. But Peacock will offer the game in 1080p HD HDR (High Dynamic Range) which should deliver a more vivid and detailed picture than what you would see if you watch on NBC. So if you have both NBC and Peacock on your favorite television, definitely choose Peacock tonight.
Speaking of NBC, the network will offer an upscaled 4K broadcast of Saturday’s Boston College-Michigan State game. See our article for more details such as where you can find the game in that format.
Gene, I hope that answers your question. Happy viewing and stay safe!
