Dish Network to Raise Prices Next Month

Dish Network, which has suffered financial troubles in recent years due in part to declining subscriptions, has announced that it’s raising package prices by $5 a month effective September 11, 2025.

The satcaster blamed the rising cost of acquiring programming for this latest price hike. Like satellite rival DIRECTV, Dish has raised prices every year for the last several years.

“There are just a couple of large programmers that own most of the channels you enjoy,” Dish says at its web site. “You may only watch a few channels but these large conglomerates require you to subscribe to all their channels…These large programmers continually force us to pay more for their channels or threaten to remove them from our customers.”

Here will be the new monthly Dish prices per plan effective September 11 after the $5 a month increase:

Welcome Pack: $66.99
Smart Pack: $70.99
Flex Pack: $72.99
Dish America: $87.99
America’s Top 120: $102.99
America’s Top 120+: $107.99
America’s Top 200: $117.99
America’s Top 250: $127.99
America’s Everything Pack: $152.99

Dish is keeping the local channels package the same price at $14.

The satcaster, which also operates the live streaming service, Sling TV, is owned by Echostar which today announced the sale of $23 billion in wireless spectrum licenses to AT&T. The sale, which must first be approved by federal regulators, could free up cash for Dish and Sling to operate. Echostar said it would use the money to reduce its debt.

Dish last year attempted to merge with DIRECTV but the latter opted out of their deal when Dish could not persuade vendors to reduce their debt payments.
