Why Comcast’s Web Site Drives Me Crazy! (Video)

TV Answer Man, do you know how to order Comcast’s $15 a month Streamsaver? I can’t find it on their site. – Gina, Boston.

Gina, we’re going to answer in a different way here because it will help illustrate just how difficult it can be to use the Comcast/Xfinity web site. That’s true whether you’re looking for the StreamSaver or anything else at Xfinity.com. The site is a mess and has been for years and it’s high time to say that loud and clear.

I never understood why a company with Comcast’s resources can’t do better. But it continues to blunder, opening the door to new streaming services to take their business by offering cleaner and more efficient sites.

So, without further adieu, let’s go to the video:

Last word: I wish I could say this was an isolated incident. But as a longtime Comcast subscriber, and journalist, I’ve found the company’s site consistently filled with errors and misdirection. (I remember a few years ago that I informed Comcast PR that its 4K page had featured games that were played three years before; the wrong games had been on the site for months and I finally got so frustrated that I sent an e-mail to PR. But they didn’t update the page; they just removed the 4K schedule entirely.)

Sorry, folks, but Xfinity.com is truly an embarrassment and it can’t be overemphasized just how confusing and frustrating it can be. It’s so bad that I cringe every time I need to look something up at the site. It takes way too long – if I can find it at all. (I’ve also had issues with being over billed by Xfinity but I’ll leave that for another time.)

Fix it, guys.
