Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon, Hulu & Paramount Plus to Add 59 New Releases This Weekend – Here Are the 5 to Watch

Netflix, Peacock, Hulu, Paramount Plus, HBO Max and Amazon’s Prime Video this weekend (July 10-13, 2025) plans to add 59 new TV shows and movies to their streaming lineups, Here are the five to watch:

Dexter: Resurrection – Paramount Plus
Release Date: Friday, July 11
You can’t keep a bad man down, particularly if he’s your network’s biggest ratings draw! Yes, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), everyone’s favorite serial killer, is back in Dexter: Resurrection, a new Paramount Plus/Showtime show which will pick up Dex’s life after he was gunned down by his own son. (Note that you will need a Paramount Plus Premium plan to watch the show.)

Drop (2025) – Peacock
Release Date: Friday, July 11
Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus) stars as a widower whose first date in years goes south when she suddenly starts receiving threatening text messages. The tension builds when she discovers the messages are coming from someone in the restaurant. Drop is not Hitchcock level, but Fahy is very good in lead and helps makes the film an entertaining and fast-paced 95 minutes. Dim the lights, and your expectations, and you’ll have a good time.

Poker Face, Season 2 Finale – Peacock
Release Date: Thursday, July 10
Natasha Lyonne (pictured above) stars in this Peacock original comedy/drama about a former casino employee who’s basically a human lie detector; she can spot someone lying lickety split. And using her unique skills, she’s able to solve a murder mystery in 60 minutes or less. Call it a modern day Columbo, Poker Face is a delight thanks to Lyonne’s charming performance, an exceptional lineup of guest stars, and show creator Rian Johnson‘s clever crafting. The season two finale sees Charlie (Lyonne) on the run again with her pal Charlie framed for murder.

Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 – Netflix
Release Date: Friday, July 11, 8 p.m. ET
Netflix will live stream a night of all-women’s boxing matches, headlined by the Taylor-Serrano grudge affair.

Opus (2025) – HBO Max
Release Date: Friday, July 11
Opus stars Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) as a journalist who’s invited along with five other guests to listen to a new album from a previously retired and enigmatic rock superstar (John Malkovich). However, once there, she discovers the musician is now part of a murderous cult. The satire/horror film has received mixed reviews but the great Malkovich as a cult leader musician is intriguing enough for me to stream in.
