HBO Max this week (July 6-11, 2025) plans to add 12 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here’s the one to watch, in my humble opinion.

Opus (2025)
Release Date: Friday, July 11

Opus stars Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) as a journalist who’s invited along with five other guests to listen to a new album from a previously retired and enigmatic rock superstar (John Malkovich). However, once there, she discovers the musician is now part of a murderous cult. The satire/horror film has received mixed reviews but the great Malkovich as a cult leader musician is intriguing enough for me to stream in.
