Comcast has announced that it has signed an agreement to provide the Chicago Sports Network in the Chicago area. The regional sports network is the TV home of the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Blackhawks.

The companies said the RSN (regional sports network) will be available in Comcast’s Xfinity Ultimate TV plan, and not the less expensive Popular TV package. Ultimate costs roughly $20 more per month than Popular.

The channel is expected to be added to the Xfinity lineup before tonight’s White Sox game against the Kansas City Royals. Update: Chicago Sports Network is now on Xfinity channel 200 in the Chicago market.

Chicago Sports Network launched in October 2024 but the channel had been unable to secure carriage on Comcast’s Xfinity TV until now. The two sides were arguing over which package should include the channel among other issues.

Jeff Agrest of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that, as part of the agreement, the channel will not be available on local channels in the following markets:

Chicago, IL
Champaign Springfield, IL
South Bend, IN
Davenport, IA
Ft Wayne, IN
Peoria, IL
Rockford, IL
Quincy, IL

“On behalf of the entire CHSN team, we’re proud to welcome Comcast’s Xfinity TV customers to a network built exclusively for Chicago sports fans,” Jason Coyle, president of Chicago Sports Network, said in a statement released by the companies. “With more than 300 live Bulls, Blackhawks, and White Sox games each year, along with original programming that highlights Chicago’s pro, college, and high school sports, CHSN delivers the most comprehensive and locally focused coverage available. This deal allows us to reach even more fans across the city and suburbs, deepen connections, and reinforce CHSN as the home for Chicago sports all day, every day.”

“We are excited to bring the White Sox, Bulls, and Blackhawks to fans across the region with the launch of CHSN for Xfinity TV and Comcast Business customers,” added Chris Smith, senior vice president for the Comcast in the Chicago region.
