Fox announced today that Fox One, a new streaming service featuring live sports, news and other Fox programming, will launch on August 21 for $19.99 a month or $199.99 annually.
The service, which will target consumers who have cut the cable and satellite cord, will include the ‘full portfolio’ of live Fox channels including Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, Fox Weather, Fox Sports, FS1, FS2, FOX Deportes, B1G, Fox local stations and the Fox network.
The company said consumers will be able to bundle Fox One with the news-oriented Fox Nation service for $24.99 a month.
Fox One will for the first time allow consumers to watch the network’s live sports and other programming without having to subscribe to a pay TV service such as cable or satellite. Fox carries NFL football, Major League Baseball, NASCAR, and other sports.
ESPN is also expected to launch a standalone streaming service for its suite of networks sometime in the coming weeks.
“We’re eager to launch Fox One in just a few weeks and super serve our viewers with the best in live news, sports and entertainment content all in one place,” Pete Distad, CEO of Fox’s direct to consumer unit, said in a press release. “In bringing together the full power of the Fox content portfolio in one service, we have created a great value proposition and user experience that will appeal to the cord-cutter and cord-never fans currently not served by conventional pay TV packages.”
