Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max & Amazon to Add 29 New Releases This Weekend – Here Are the 3 to Watch

Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max and Amazon’s Prime Video this weekend (June 5-8, 2025) will add 29 new TV shows and movies to their streaming lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

The Accountant 2 (2025)
Release Date: Thursday, June 5 On Amazon’s Prime Video
Ben Affleck stars as an autistic accountant who moonlights as a financial ‘cleaner’ for shady organizations in this sequel to his 2016 film, titled The Accountant. His character, who is joined again by his brother, played with characteristic over-the-top charm by Jon Bernthal, is tasked with locating a missing Salvadoran family in Los Angeles. However, an assassin may be waiting for them when they do. Lower the lights, and your expectations, and you will love this action-packed ‘popcorn movie.’ Affleck and Bernthal are so perfectly matched that it’s hard to believe they hadn’t been paired before this series.

Ginny & Georgia (Season 3) – Netflix Original
Release Date: Thursday, June 5 On Netflix
Brianne Howey stars as Georgia, a woman who has been arrested for murder during her wedding, Can her best friend Ginny come to the rescue in season three? The comedy/drama series has generated mixed reviews but the show’s topical storylines and realistic depiction of young single motherhood has attracted a strong following. All three seasons now available on Netflix.

Tires (Season Two) – Netflix Original
Release Date: Friday, June 6 On Netflix
Steve Gerben plays the boss of a struggling auto repair shop who’s constantly pestered by his cousin (and incompetent employee) played by Shane Gillis (pictured above). If you like old school comedy for comedy’s sake, Tires is for you. Seasons one and two now on Netflix.
