Will the 2025 NBA All-Star Game Be In 4K?

The TV Answer Man – Follow me on X.
TV Answer Man, do you know if the NBA All-Star tournament will be available in 4K? (The Super Bowl looked great in 4K on Fox.) – Jamal, Sacramento.
Jamal, the reimagined NBA All-Star Game, which will consist of a single elimination tournament with three teams of players, will start tonight at 8:20 p.m. ET on Max, TNT and truTV.
But will it be available in 4K?
Answer: No. Turner Sports, which produces live sporting events on Max, TNT and truTV, has never done a single NBA game in 4K and the All-Star Game will be no exception.
The good news is that you can watch the game in 1080p HD Dolby Vision with a $9.99 a month subscription to Max. While the 1080p HD picture is not as good as 4K (even an upscaled 4K picture), it’s a marked improvement over a 1080i or 720p HD broadcast. You’ll find that the images look more vivid and realistic in 1080p HD, compared to a lesser HD transmission.
If you’re looking for a NBA game in 4K, YouTube TV will carry the NBA TV’s upscaled 4K broadcast of the Minnesota Timberwolves-Oklahoma City Thunder game on Monday, February 24 at 8 p.m. ET. DIRECTV and DIRECTV Stream may also have the game in 4K so check your on-screen guide for additional information.
Jamal, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
