Paramount Plus, the streaming service with plans starting at $7.99 a month, this week (February 10-16, 2025) plans to add nine new TV shows and movies. Here’s the one you definitely want to watch, in my humble opinion:
Yellowjackets, season three premiere* – Showtime original
The Showtime original drama tells the tale of a group of girl high school soccer players whose plane crashes in the uncharted northern wilderness. The feisty females soon go all Lord of the Flies on each other, engaging in actions that will haunt them for years after their rescue. I watched season one and found Yellowjackets original and daring with strong acting from the ensemble cast, particularly Juliette Lewis, Melanie Lynskey and Christine Ricci. However, season two stalled for me due to an overemphasis on their current lives. But the producers say season three will get back to the wild which means more action and more Lord of the Flies. Debuts Friday, February 14 with two episodes. Future episodes to air on following Fridays.
Music fans also want to note that Paramount Plus on Wednesday (February 12) will debut Eric Clapton Unplugged, a reprise of the legendary guitarist’s MTV special from 30 years ago. The show, which features Clapton playing such classics as Layla and Tears In Heaven, will include never-before-seen footage and improved sound quality.
