TV Answer Man, I plan to watch the 4K feed of the Super Bowl on Tubi. But will they have the ads that will be on the regular broadcast on Fox? That’s part of the fun of watching the Super Bowl. – Charlene, Amarillo, Texas.
Charlene, Fox has announced that Super Bowl 2025, which will take place in New Orleans at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 9, will be available in 4K for free on Tubi, the network’s free ads-supporting streaming service. (See this article on the four steps to watching the 4K broadcast on Tubi. The biggest thing to know is that you need to register at Tubi to watch the 4K stream of the game.)
“As part of the network’s extensive coverage, this year marks the first time FOX Sports rolls out its special takeover of Tubi for The Big Game – inclusive of streaming FOX’s telecast of the Super Bowl on the platform live in 4K. Super Bowl LIX is available to watch on FOX, FOX Deportes, Tubi, Telemundo and across NFL digital properties with unauthenticated access across devices,” Fox said in a statement.
Since Tubi is relatively new, several readers have e-mailed me with questions about how to watch the streamer’s 4K offering and whether the broadcast will be the same you would see on your Fox network affiliate. The greatest concern seems to be whether the Tubi stream will include the Super Bowl ads that appears on the regular Fox broadcast. Many fans tune in to the big game to watch the ads as much as the action.
Well, the answer is yes. Tubi, which will offer both a 4K feed and a HD stream, will show the same commercials that you would see if you watched the game on Fox. The broadcast, including the announcers and other programming, will also be the same. (Local ads, of course, will vary by network affiliate.)
Charlene, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
