Netflix this week (January 12-18, 2025) plans to add 11 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

Back In Action (Netflix original film)
Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz star as former CIA spies who are pulled back into espionage when their cover is blown. The comedy/action film is aptly titled for it marks Diaz’s first movie role in 10 years and Foxx recently recovered from a near-death illness. Debuts Friday, January 17.

Love Is Blind – Germany (Netflix Original – New Episodes)
Based on the American version of the Netflix dating series, a few dozen German men and women will take turns jumping into shielded pods to discuss life, sex and other trivial matters while searching for ‘the one.’ The show is more disposable than an ultra-soft box of Kleenex but it’s harmless and occasionally funny. And if you’re a 20something, it’s probably irresistible. New episodes debut Friday, January 17.

Hereditary (2018)
Toni Collette stars in this psychological horror film as a Mom whose family starts to unravel after her secretive grandmother dies. The death triggers bizarre actions by family members but the initial prognosis that they are caused by depression is soon replaced when supernatural forces take over. Hereditary, which was distributed by the high concept indie studio, A24, was critically acclaimed upon its release in 2018, capturing a 90 percent score at Rotten Tomatoes. Debuts Wednesday, January 18.
