TV Answer Man, I saw your article on the free sports channels on Sling TV. How about Pluto TV? Do they have as many and are they as good? — Jamal, Sacramento.

Jamal, you’re right. The TV Answer Man published an article this week on the 39 free sports channels that are on Sling TV’s free streaming service, Freestream. The Sling free service is one of many free, ad-supported offerings now available via streaming. But arguably the best-known free service is Pluto TV, which is owned by the Paramount streaming division of Paramount Global.

Pluto TV has more than 250 free channels in its lineup which includes 28 sports-themed channels. You might then say that Pluto’s free sports lineup is therefore second to Sling. However, thanks to its deeper pockets, and its connection to Paramount, Pluto has more quality free sports channels than Sling or perhaps any other free service.

The Pluto sports channel list includes CBS Sports HQ, a 24/7 sports news and highlights service from the aforementioned network; Fox Sports, which offers a mix of studio and news shows from the network; NBC Sports, which airs shows such as The Dan Patrick Show and the Dan Le Batard Show, among other NBC Sports-produced programming; the NFL Channel, the league’s free streaming service featuring classic games and news and info shows; and the MLB Channel, baseball’s free service featuring its classic games and other programming.

As you can see, there are some serious heavyweights providing free programming to Pluto TV, which makes the free service a great destination for cost-conscious sports fans.

Here’s the complete list of sports channels now available for free on Pluto TV. (You can watch Pluto TV on its app or clicking to this web page.)
