Spectrum’s TV Select subscribers can now watch the ads-included Max plan for no additional cost as part of a distribution agreement between Spectrum TV’s owner, Charter, and Max’s owner, Warner Bros. Discovery.
The ads-included Max plan, which normally costs $9.99 a month, includes such HBO hit series as Game of Thrones, The Penguin, The White Lotus and Succession as well as live sports from Turner networks, TBS and TNT, and Discovery programming, among other titles.
Spectrum TV’s Select customers can access Max using the Xumo Stream Box or any other streaming device that that supports Max.
“Integrating services like Max into Spectrum TV Select furthers our goal of offering fulsome video products that include the best of linear and streaming programming,” Tom Montemagno, Charter’s executive vice president for programming acquisition, said in a statement. “Through our hybrid distribution strategy, customers in our most popular packages now have access to seamless entertainment with the ad-supported versions of Max, Disney+, ESPN+, Paramount+, ViX and Tennis Channel+, with more to come – up to an $80 per month retail value by the first half of 2025. We appreciate WBD’s shared commitment to re-imagining the future of video and embracing a model that is good for our respective customers and both our companies.”
