Fubo has launched a new base plan called Essential that does not include regional sports channels or RSN fees.
Essential’s monthly cost is $79.99, the same as the Pro base plan. However, with the RSNs removed, Essential subscribers are not charged a RSN fee which can be as much as $15.99 a month in some markets. By offering the Essential plan, Fubo is essentially giving subscribers an opportunity to opt out on RSNs.
The Essential package has approximately 200 channels, about the same as the Pro plan. Both Pro and Essential also allow you to watch on up to 10 screens at the same time and include an unlimited DVR service in the cloud.
Another difference between Essential and Pro is that Essential’s first month price is $44.99 as part of a Fubo promotion for new subscribers. The Pro plan is now $49.99 for the first month with that promotion. Regular prices will apply for both packages unless you cancel prior to the end of the first month.
