How Many New Titles Will Netflix Add This Week?

Netflix this week (October 13-19, 2024) plans to add 25 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup.

What Are the 3 Most Interesting New Titles Coming to Netflix This Week?

Woman of the Hour (2024) – Netflix
Anna Kendrick stars (and directs) in this retelling of a real-life serial killer who appeared on The Dating Game in 1978 and actually won the date! The movie, which focuses on the filming of the show, is generating rave reviews from the critics for both Kendrick’s direction and her performance as the woman who unknowingly chooses a killer on national television. Debuts on Netflix on October 18.

Selma (2015)
David Oyelowo stars as Martin Luther King, Jr. in this Ana DuVernay directed epic about the civil rights leader and his courageous effort in 1964 to assist blacks in registering to vote in the Jim Crow South. The film is a stirring look at King the man and the leader, but, as many Hollywood films often do, glosses over some facts to make its subject look even better. (For example, Lyndon Baines Johnson arguably was the most instrumental in getting the 1964 Civil Rights Act passed, but the film suggests LBJ was a reluctant participant.) Debuts on Netflix on Wednesday, October 16.

I Am a Killer: Season 5 — Netflix Documentary
Netflix sure loves serial killers. Well, at least fictional portrayals of them. The streamer has been home to bioflicks and documentaries on such notorious murderers as Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, the Hillside Strangler of Los Angeles, and it has a series coming from Ryan Murphy on Ed Gein, the Wisconsin farmer who butchered a lot more than hogs in the 1950s. And now Netflix presents season five of I Am a Killer. The series includes chilling interviews with convicted murderers who attempt to explain why and how they did it. If you like that sort of thing, the doc is well done albeit quite, quite creepy. Debuts on Netflix on Wednesday, October 16.
