HBO Max to Add 115 New Releases In April 2026: The 3 to Watch

HBO Max next month (April 2026) will add 115 TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Marty Supreme (2025)
When to Watch: April 24
What Kind of Movie: Comedy/Drama
Who’s In It: Timothee Chalamet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Fran Drescher
Timothee Chalamet stars as a 1950s table tennis superstar who also likes to ping his pong, if you get my drift. Loosely based on a real-life sports legend, the eccentric and enigmatic Marty Reisman, Marty Supreme is an insane but entertaining portrait of athletic brilliance and lifestyle excess rolled into one. Chalamet, who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor (losing to Michael B. Jordan for Sinners), nails the role and emerges from the film as the top star of his generation. Director Josh Safdie, who co-helmed the hidden gem, Uncut Gems, with his brother, Benny, also establishes himself as an auteur to watch.

Euphoria (Season Three)
When to Watch: April 12
What Kind of Show: Drama
Who’s In It: Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Zendaya
The show which features some of the hottest young stars in Hollywood (Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Zendaya) will return for season three in April, almost four years after season two ended. The new season will follow the nubile crew in college after spending the first two seasons in high school. Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face) is joining the cast although her role has yet to be explained.

7 Alien Movies
When to Watch: Wednesday, April 1, Friday, April 3
What Kind of Movies: Sci-Fi
Who’s In It: Sigourney Weaver, Michael Fassbender, Tom Skerritt
If you love sci-fi and monsters, here’s your reason to subscribe to HBO Max. The streamer is adding seven Alien movies plus six different versions of those films including director cuts. The fun begins on Wednesday (April 1) with the release of Alien vs. Predator, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Aliens, Alien vs. Predator: Requiem and the original Alien from 1979. Then on Friday, HBO Max will add Alien: Romulus, the 2024 film. If you’ve never seen the original directed by the great Ridley Scott, it’s an intense thrill ride starring Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt and John Hurt as members of a futuristic commercial space ship which is invaded by an omnipotent monstrous blob that loves to destroy human beings. The film set off the franchise which has not only led to the numerous films but a excellent FX/Hulu TV series, Alien: Earth. Have fun this week, Alien fans.
