Which Two Shows Did CBS Just Cancel? And Why?

The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
TV Answer Man, any news on show cancellations by the networks? Isn’t this the time they start cancelling shows as they set the new lineups for next year? – Clara, Lima, Ohio.
Clara, that’s very observant of you. The four major networks – CBS, ABC, NBC and Fox – do begin axing shows between now and May as they assemble their Fall Lineups. Old shows are sent packing while new ones get the coveted go-ahead. And, as an example of that process, CBS has just cancelled two primetime shows.
Deadline reports that the Monday night comedy, DMV, starring Tim Meadows, and the Sunday night Sherlock Holmes drama, Dr. Watson, starring Morris Chestnut, have both been axed.
The DMV finale (this was its first season) will air on May 3 while the second season Dr. Watson will wrap things up with a May 11 finale.
Both shows struggled in the ratings so neither cancellation is a huge surprise. However, sad to see Meadows go; the former Saturday Night Live player is a talented but underrated comedy actor who has never gotten the attention he deserves.
Clara, I hope that answers your question. Happy viewing and stay safe!
