Amazon’s Prime Video to Add 6 New Releases This Week: The 2 to Watch

Amazon’s Prime Video this week (March 2-8, 2026) will add six new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the two to watch, in my humble opinion:

Young Sherlock (2026)
When to Watch: Wednesday, March 4
What Kind of Show: Mystery
Who’s In It: Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Colin Firth

Hero Fiennes Tiffin (pictured above) stars as the 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes, the fictional master detective who attempts to solve his first murder while attending Oxford University. The Amazon original series covers old ground (previous movies and shows have used the ‘young Sherlock’ angle) but it’s still a fun concept and the strong supporting cast includes Colin Firth, Tiffin’s real-life uncle, Joseph Fiennes (who plays his father), and Natascha McElhone.

A Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood (2019)
When to Watch: Monday, March 2
What Kind of Movie: Biofilm
Who’s In It: Tom Hanks, Matthew Rhys

Tom Hanks (pictured above) stars as Fred Rogers, the lovable host of PBS’ Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. The film casts a spotlight on the late icon’s life using the device of an Esquire Magazine writer (Matthew Rhys) writing a profile on him. Along the way, Rogers dishes out life’s lessons about acceptance and empathy. A Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood is a beautiful portrait of a beautiful person.
