Netflix, Disney, Hulu, HBO Max Add 13 New Releases Tuesday: The 3 to Watch

Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Amazon Prime, Paramount Plus, Peacock and Disney Plus today (January 27, 2026) added 13 new TV shows and movies to their streaming lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

American Idol (Season 9 Premiere)
Where to Watch: Hulu
What Kind of Show: Reality/Competition
Who’s In It: Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest
Hulu gets next-day rights to Monday’s airing of the American Idol season nine premiere on ABC. Ryan Seacrest is back as host with the returning judges (noted above) ready to impart wisdom, and vicious verdicts, to the singing hopefuls.

Wonder Man (All 8 episodes)
Where to Watch: Disney Plus
What Kind of Show: Superhero Satire
Who’s In It: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Ben Kingsley
Considering there have been 3,068 superhero films during the last decade (slight exaggeration perhaps), it’s about time that someone satirizes the genre. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays Simon Williams, a struggling actor who auditions for the starring role in a Wonder Man superhero film – while trying to hide his own super powers. Ben Kingsley plays an actor/friend who goes for a smaller part. The trailer looks very funny and Rotten Tomatoes is already declaring it a winner. And there are some fun cameos from Josh Gad, Mario Lopez and Joey Pantoliano who play themselves. (Abdul-Mateen II and Kingsley in picture above.)

Where to Watch: Amazon’s Prime Video (8 p.m. ET)
What Kind of Show: Sports Talk
Who’s In It: Kenan Thompson, Kevin Hart
Kenan Thompson and Kevin Hart continue their sports talk show series, casting a funny eye (well, four eyes) at recent top games with celebrity interviews and other miscellaneous filler. Love sports and need a quick laugh? This one is for you.

Sports fans, also note that Peacock has a NBA doubleheader tonight.
