Netflix this week (January 26-February 1, 2026) will add 33 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Bridgerton (Season 4, Part One)
When to Watch: January 29, 2026
What Kind of Show: Historical soap opera
Who’s In It: Jonathan Bailey, Nicola Coughlan

Season four of the sudsy British historical romance will debut on Thursday (January 29) with the first four episodes; episodes five through eight are scheduled for February 26, 2026. Bridgerton is not my cup of tea, if you will, but season four will feature a new mysterious love interest (a maid in a silver mask) for Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson). I’m told this will make Bridgerton’s female fans lose their tea. (Note: The first three seasons are now streaming on Netflix.)

Hell Or High Water (2016)
When to Watch: Sunday, February 1
What Kind of Movie: Neo Noir Western
Who’s In It: Chris Pine, Jeff Bridges

Written by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, Landman) and directed by David Mackenzie, this neo noir Western stars Chris Pine and Ben Foster as two bank robbing brothers in modern day Texas who are pursued by two Texas Rangers (Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham). The film is basically Michael Mann’s Heat set in the dusty plains of the New West and that’s a good thing. Hell or High Water offers a fascinating portrait of the meticulous methods of the good guys and bad and Pine and Bridges are fantastic in the Pacino/De Niro roles. A real hidden gem here.

Glitter & Gold: Ice Dancing
When to Watch: Sunday, February 1
What Kind of Show: Sports Documentary
Who’s In It: Madison Chock, Evan Bates, Alan Rippon

Just in time for the 2026 Winter Olympics, which begin next week, Netflix will premiere this three-part documentary on three ice dancing teams as they prepare to go for the Gold (The three teams: Madison Chock/Evan Bates of the United States; Piper Gilles/Paul Poirier of Canada; and Laurence Fournier Beaudry/Guillaume Cizeron of France.) The doc team says the show will reveal the looming fragility of team relationships which can threaten even the best competitors.
