Netflix, Paramount Plus, HBO Max, Peacock, Amazon’s Prime Video, Hulu and Disney Plus today (January 22, 2026) are adding 15 new shows and movies. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Mel Brooks: The 99 Year Old Man! (2026)
Where to Watch: HBO Max
What Kind of Show: Documentary/Comedy
Who’s In It: Mel Brooks, Judd Apatow

Director/Writer Judd Apatow presents the incredible 99-year-old story of Mel Brooks in this HBO original documentary. Featuring interviews with Brooks himself as well as Jerry Seinfeld, Ben Stiller and Dave Chappelle, the doc traces the great one’s path from a young comedy writer for Sid Caesar’s The Show of Shows in the 1950s to his ‘2000 Year Old Man’ skits with Carl Reiner to his trailblazing satirical comedies (Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, High Anxiety). Apatow says Mel Brooks may be the funniest man ever – and he may be right.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Where to Watch: Disney Plus
What Kind of Movie: Superhero Action
Who’s In It: Tom Hardy, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams

In the sequel to 2018’s Venom, Tom Hardy (pictured above) returns in dual roles as journalist Eddie Brock and the butt-kicking and virulent Venom. In this installment, Brock attempts to revive his career by interviewing a serial killer (Woody Harrelson) but accidentally infects him, turning him into the evil Carnage. Venom then must separate from Brock to fight Carnage to the death and save the world. The superhero movie from Marvel Comics is a crazy thrill-ride for fans of the genre with over-the-top (but fun) turns by Hardy and Harrelson.

The Traitors
What Kind of Show: Reality/Competition Show
Where to Watch: Peacock (Episode six of 11)
Who’s In It: Alan Cumming

I have not watched The Traitors and, from the description, I seriously doubt that I will ever watch it. But it is a popular show, based on social media chattery. So I am including it here for those who might be interested. And for those who are not familiar with it, The Traitors, hosted by Alan Cumming (Eyes Wide Shut), is a game show where Z-list celebrities compete for cash prizes by engaging in a Survivor-like game where some participants are secret traitors who plot to ‘murder’ other players. Somehow, by the end of the season, a winner is declared based on whether the traitors stay in the game or not. This season’s celebrity Z-list includes – and you might want to sit down for this – Yam Yam Arocho, Maura Higgins, Donna Kelce (Mom to the NFL’s Kelces), Kristen Kish and a host of others I’ve never heard of.
