CBS, Fox, NBC, CW & ABC Add 14 New Shows Tonight – Here Are the 3 to Watch

CBS, The CW, Fox, NBC and ABC tonight (December 18, 2025) will add 14 new shows to their lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

A Saturday Night Live Christmas – NBC
Air Time: 9 p.m.
By any measure, Saturday Night Live has fallen into a creative abyss over the last few years; the show’s roster is so devoid of top talent that last season it had to drag back old timers Dana Carvey and Maya Rudolph to play Joe Biden and Kamala Harris respectively in election year sketches. However, tonight, we can forget all that. A Saturday Night Live Christmas is a two-hour special filled with the best SNL Christmas-theme skits from the show’s history. And that means the best of Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Carvey, Fred Armisen, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader and all the first ballot SNL Hall of Famers. So, enjoy. (I’m hoping they include Murphy’s 2019 ‘Home For the Holidays’ sketch; it’s the funniest thing you’ll ever see.)

Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town – ABC
Air Time: 8 p.m.
And the holiday theme continues with ABC’s rebroadcast of the 1970 animated show which regales us with the tale of how Santa became Santa. The show, which is based on the same-name hit song, is narrated by Fred Astaire and features the voices of Mickey Rooney, Keenan Wynn and Robbie Lester.

Ghosts – CBS
Air Time: 8 p.m.
The charming comedy gets its laughs from ghosts interrupting the lives of a living couple so it had to do a ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ episode for Christmas, right? Right! Tonight’s Ghosts’ episode is called, ‘It’s a Wonderful Christmas Carol’ and Sam (Rose McIver) discovers what life would be like if she never saw a ghost.

Password (Holiday Special with Jimmy Fallon and Jonathan Groff) – 8 p.m.
A Saturday Night Live Christmas – 9 p.m.
Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon (guests: Carmelo Anthony, Darlene Love, Little Steven and the Disciples of Love) – 11:35 p.m.

Fox
Next Level Baker – 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.

The CW
Angel Falls Christmas – 8 p.m.- 10 p.m.
