Netflix, Amazon Prime & Hulu Adding 7 New Releases Today – Here Are the Ones to Watch

The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
Netflix, Hulu and Amazon’s Prime Video are welcoming Hump Day (Wednesday, December 10) with the release of seven new shows and movies. Here are the ones to watch, in my humble opinion:
Merv (2025) – Amazon’s Prime Video
Release Time: Today, 3 a.m. ET
Charlie Cox and Zooey Deschanel star as a separated couple who decide to reunite briefly only to cheer up their depressed dog. The pooch, of course, has another agenda and it’s aimed at a permanent solution. This is a cute concept albeit poaching from the millions of movies where the kid plots to get Mom and Dad back together. But this time, the dog runs the show.
NBA Cup Quarterfinals – Amazon’s Prime Video
Release Time: Today, 6:30 p.m. ET
In tonight’s NBA Cup knockout round, carried exclusively by Amazon Prime, the Phoenix Suns will play the Oklahoma City Thunder at 7:30 p.m. ET and the San Antonio Spurs will battle the Los Angeles Lakers at 10 p.m. ET.
Simon Cowell: The Next Act – Netflix
Release Time: Today, 3 a.m. ET
Say what you will about the always brash but never apologetic Simon Cowell, but the music producer/TV personality knows how to put on a show. Now Netflix is giving him free rein to discover the next great ‘Boy Band’ with a new competition program featuring 16 (hopefully) talented hopefuls. Will it be the next American Idol? Stream in to find out. (To learn more about the show, click here.)
Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Disney Original) – Season Two – Hulu
Release Time: Today, 3 a.m. ET
Walker Scobell stars as young Percy Jackson who must locate Zeus’ lost thunderbolt to restore order in mythological Greece. The popular teen/tween show, which will also debut on Disney+, will follow Percy in season two as he enters the Sea of Monsters to find the Golden Fleece!
Kevin Costner Presents: The First Christmas – Hulu
Release Time: Today, 3 a.m.
‘Tis the season so buckle up for the annual onslaught of holiday specials; some good, some bad. But this one looks worthwhile. Kevin Costner hosts a depiction of the hardships endured by Joseph and Mary before and after the birth of Jesus. Regardless of your religious views, this also serves as a tribute to all parents who must make sacrifices every day, and sometimes, every hour of the day.
