DIRECTV has added seven channels to its satellite lineup which include ESPN+ programming from the ESPN Unlimited app. They are not available on DIRECTV’s streaming lineup.
The channels, which are available on DIRECTV satellite from channel numbers 210-1 through 210-7, include live games in a variety of sports. Tonight’s lineup features the Iowa State vs, Drake women’s basketball game at 7 p.m. ET; the Tennessee vs. Middle Tennessee State women’s basketball game at 7:30 p.m. ET; the Oral Roberts vs. Oklahoma men’s college basketball game at 8 p.m. ET; and the Los Angeles Kings vs. the San Jose Sharks NHL contest at 10 p.m. ET, among other games.
The ESPN Unlimited App, which costs $29.99 a month, includes live feeds of the basic cable ESPN channels including ESPN, ESPN2, ACC Network, ESPNEWS, SEC Network, ESPNU and ESPN Deportes. The ESPN+ content on the app features games and shows which are not part of those basic cable lineups.
DIRECTV’s streaming customers have had access to the entire ESPN Unlimited app (including ESPN+) since its launch in August 2025 thanks to a carriage agreement between the companies in 2024. However, the TV provider has rolled out full app access to its satellite audience in stages and is not expected to finish the roll out before month’s end. That means some satellite customers do not have access to the ESPN+ portion of the app although they do get the live feeds of the basic cable ESPN channels.
However, with the addition of the seven ESPN+ channels, any DIRECTV satellite subscriber with ESPN in his or her plan can watch some ESPN+ programming without leaving the DIRECTV platform.
The TV Answer Man has asked DIRECTV for more details on the addition of the seven ESPN+ channels and will update this article if we get more information.
Update: A Directv spokesman tells The TV Answer Man: “DIRECTV has enabled access to select ESPN+ content for satellite customers on channels 210-1 through 210-7. Access to all ESPN+ content within the DIRECTV experience for MySports and Signature streaming customers will be available in 2026. All DIRECTV ESPN subscribers (including those on U-verse) can also access all ESPN+ content via the ESPN app.”
He added: “We’ll also be ingesting all the same ESPN content for streaming customers in 2026.”
