Paramount Plus next month (November 2025) plans to add 149 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:
Landman, Season 2 Premiere
Release Date: November 16
Billy Bob Thornton stars as a Texas oil company fixer in this drama (with a pinch of comedy) series from producer/writer Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone). This is arguably the best show on TV now thanks to Billy Bob’s charismatic performance as the oilman who will do anything to further his company’s agenda, even manipulating the U.S. military to bomb a Mexican drug cartel that threatened to disturb an exploration. (Like I said, he will do anything.) The terrific supporting cast in season one included Ali Larter as Billy Bob’s WILD ex-wife, Jon Hamm as the oil company CEO, and Demi Moore as the CEO’s wife. In season two, which premieres on November 16, Billy Bob’s character will scrap with Moore for control of the company while trying to navigate his romantic reunion with Larter and keeping his teen daughter (Michelle Randolph) from sleeping with the high school quarterback. It’s a crazy show, folks. If you haven’t seen it, season one is now available on Paramount Plus. Binge away and get ready for season two. (
Crutch, season one premiere
Release Date: November 3
Tracy Morgan stars as an outspoken Harlem shopkeeper (known as ‘Crutch’) whose carefully controlled existence is disrupted when his grown-up son and daughter (and their grandkids) move back into his house. The comedy, a spinoff from the CBS sitcom, The Neighborhood, should be a great showcase for the talents of Tracy who rarely fails to connect with his unique brand of humor. (Note that Tracy will guest star as Crutch on The Neighborhood’s episode on CBS on November 3.)
Chinatown (1974)
Release Date: November 1
Jack Nicholson stars in this Roman Polanski-directed neo noir classic about a private detective who gets more he can handle when he investigates the transfer of water in 1930s Los Angeles. Nicholson cements his status as one of Hollywood’s greatest as the cool but vulnerable detective J.J. Gittes and the supporting cast is exceptional, particularly Faye Dunaway as a powerful widow with a host of skeletons in the closet. But the real star here is Polanski who was just five years removed from the graphic slaying of his wife, Sharon Tate, by the Manson Family. Scene after scene in Chinatown offer subtle reminders of that grisly event but Polanski bravely taps his personal experience to tell a haunting tale.
