TV Answer Man, is NFL Plus a good way to watch all the games if you don’t want to subscribe to a cable or satellite operator? – Ellie, Fairfax, Virginia.

Ellie, the only way to watch ALL the 2025 NFL regular season games is subscribe to the NFL Sunday Ticket, get an antenna, pay TV service or NFL Plus for local broadcasts, and then subscribe to the streaming services (Amazon’s Prime Video, ESPN+ and Netflix) that will carry a handful games as exclusives. You will also need a service or subscription that has the NFL Network which will carry some games.

They aren’t making it easy for us, are they?

However, NFL Plus, the league’s standalone streaming plan, can be a way to watch a majority of the games without cable or satellite. But there is a catch.

The NFL Plus Premium plan, which now costs $14.99 a month or $79.99 a year, includes live local and prime time regular season and playoff broadcasts, live out-of-market preseason games, the NFL Network, the NFL RedZone channel, live game audio, NFL Films content and full and condensed game replays.

That’s a lot of football although you will still miss out on the out-of-market games that are exclusive to the NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels. The catch to NFL Plus is that the local and primetime regular season and playoff game broadcasts (available on your local network affiliates such as Fox, CBS and NBC) are only available on phones and tablets. The connected TV NFL Plus app (on Roku etc.) will not show them. However, it will show the NFL RedZone channel on your TV.

The base NFL Plus plan, which now costs $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year, includes live local, primetime regular season and post-season games on mobile devices and tablets as well. The cheaper plan also includes live out-of-market preseason games, the NFL Network and live game audio.

Bottom line: If you’re not too concerned about watching EVERY game – and you’re okay with watching on a phone or tablet – the NFL Plus is a good option for cord cutters. You could watch a lot of football for less than $100.
