DIRECTV streaming (not satellite) is offering $30 off the first month for its Choice and above plans in a time-limited promotion.

The discount, which is good for new residential customers, would reduce the Choice plan from $89.99 a month to $59.99; the Ultimate plan from $119.99 a month to $89.99 a month; and the Premier plan from $164.99 a month to $134.99 a month.

The three plans all include more than 100 channels including regional sports channels.

However, note that the promotion requires a $10 a month license fee for DIRECTV’s Gemini streaming device and a regional sports fee as high as $17.99 a month. Also, the regular rates will apply in month two if you do not cancel prior to the end of the promotional period.

DIRECTV does not say at its web site how long this promotion will last.

DIRECTV streaming comes with a five-day free trial so you can check out the service before subscribing.
