The NFL announced today that YouTube will exclusively stream the week one matchup in Brazil between San Diego Chargers and an unnamed opponent for free. The Kansas City Chiefs are the expected opponent.

The game, which will be played on Friday, September 5, 2025, will also be available on YouTube TV.

This will be the first time that a NFL regular season game will stream for free on YouTube. The streaming service is also an exclusive host of the NFL Sunday Ticket (along with YouTube TV) but the package requires a subscription.

The Chargers game, which will kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET on September 5, will be played at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The NFL is expected to confirm San Diego’s opponent later this week.

The announcement is more evidence of the NFL’s growing partnership with streaming services. The league has granted exclusive games this season to Netflix, Amazon and Peacock. And YouTube this year will again be the exclusive carrier of the Sunday Ticket.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with YouTube to bring this year’s Brazil game to a worldwide audience,” said Hans Schroeder, NFL executive vice president of media distribution. “YouTube and YouTube TV have been incredible partners of the NFL for several years and boast an immense global reach, and we look forward to Week 1 in São Paulo.”
